Summertime gladness
It's been a busy summer so far. I entered a piece in the 'It's My Right' exhibition at the South Dallas Cultural Center.
I worked on some signage.
I taught a Calligraphy and Typography camp with Lily Smith-Kirkley of Lilco at Oil and Cotton. I also enjoyed being the Intuitive Calligrapher at the Perot Museum for Oil and Cotton.
I worked with the DallasContemporary, and I admired some text as art at the Red Arrow Gallery.
More to come...have happy 4th!

Classic calligraphy
I had a fun filled time of calligraphy, vintage Victorian photographs, artful ink blots, and clever phrases with Tom Sale this past weekend.
Quill Pen Calligraphy is coming up on Sunday, April 13 from 1:30-4p at Oil and Cotton. Students will learn to make a quill pen and improve their handwriting.

Wedding season is upon us
Wedding season is kicking off.
If your wedding is within the next six months, you may be thinking about save-the-date cards. If it is in the next four to two months you need to get those invites out.
You will also want to consider any hand-lettered signage or hand-painted materials you may need at your wedding.
Look for materials you can keep or reuse, handmade paper, 100% recycled paper, or cotton paper. Save those trees!
I use Sumi ink and walnut ink. Both are plant based inks.
Happy Weddings!
