Pen and Ink Workshop this coming Friday!

Getting ready for the pen and ink calligraphy workshop at Oil and Cotton on Friday, May 25 at 6:30 'til 9p.  I will be covering Foundational Hand with pen and ink as well as these cute little booklets you can write your own special message in.  I got the idea for the booklets from Mystic Blue Signs in New Orleans.  The calligrapher, Eve Rutledge, made them (the ones I wrote in that were photographed by Shannon Driscoll). I love them and want to share them with my friends here in Dallas.  I made the one below (first attempt; I am going to make some adjustments).

Unchained and lots of calligraphy!

I have been away from the blog for a while...sorry.

I was an extra in Django Unchained, and I had tons of wonderful calligraphy work...thanks to BESPOKE (April 28) at the Dallas Contemporary, Kristen Knight of Shenanigans, and Marion Marshall of Absolutely Blooming

I also had the pleasure of participating in the Arboretum Stroll on April 4.  It was lovely.  Brides, that event is a great place to meet some dynamic and capable vendors for your wedding needs...don't miss it next year! Here are some pics of my spread for the Stroll and a table arrangement by Absolutely Blooming:

Last Friday, I also had a great time teaching another Intro to Calligraphy workshop at Oil and Cotton (picture below from last Friday).  I have a workshop coming up on May 25, 2012.  That one will cover Foundational Hand (sample of a poem I wrote in Foundational Hand below) using pen and ink.  Students for that course will also learn to make accordion-style books that they can write their own special message in.  Look for more calligraphy workshops from me this summer and fall with Oil and Cotton!

I will write again soon.  :)
